Message for Pakistan's defense forces and pass it on

FYI...

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Javed
Date: Thu, May 21, 2009
Subject: Need Your Advice and Support

Brig. Sahib,

Please see the following message for Pakistan's defense forces and pass it on to
the appropriate person even if you do not believe some of it. Thanks. Javed

Pakistanis living abroad, are slowly straightening up their necks that were bent
out of shame and embarrassment, for so long. We applaud Pakistan’s decision
to re-establish its writ in the country and stand up to the misguided militants
called Taliban. Pakistan has tolerated their excesses for too long, as the
events have proved. I have three suggestions:

The time is not of complacency. While the nation is busy finding ways and means
to take care of the avalanche of displaced population of the northern areas,
government should also get ready for a long drawn war against Talibans. Taliban,
like cockroaches will just disperse momentarily, and then reassemble and keep
striking back until their leadership is totally obliterated. Pakistani young
boys who were terrorized and coerced to join Taliban should be reached out and
convinced to desert them. Use FM radio. Those leaving Talibans should be offered
amnesty and an opportunity to turn their life around.

The other most important step is to use the incoming foreign aid to start
recruiting at least 100,000 young males from the millions roaming on the
streets, give them uniforms, 3 months intensive training, and prepare them to
fight Talibans. Under the plan, after the term of engagement of no more than two
years, they should be given a scholarship for at least two years to enroll in a
vocational training program to acquire basic or higher education and suitable
skills to start a new productive life in the community they came from. They
should be further counseled/assisted in finding work or to establish their own
small scale businesses via micro credit programs. Same terms can be offered to
those young Pakistanis deserting Taliban’s yoke. Each of new recruits should
be insured against death and disability for a reasonable amount covering
treatment and compensation.

I propose that wherever possible, DPs should be helped to organize themselves in
small groups to receive and dispense relief goods and cash. This approach will
have many advantages against outsiders handling everything directly.

Iron is hot. Our nation is showing a rare moment of solidarity, therefore,
let’s make the best of it by accomplishing something of redeeming and lasting
value, as proposed.

Very simple get rid of mullahas from our society.95% problems will be automatically solved .

ASHRAF.
DEAR U MISUNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM.AT THE TIME U DIED YOU NEED MULLAHA FORYOUR PRAYER LIKE EVERY MUSLIM NEED THAT. IF YR A MUSLIM.WE KNOW THEIR ARE MANY PROBLEM IN OUR SOCIETY.BUT IT DOES NOT MEANS WE START LOOKING TO THE DARKER SIDE ALWAYS AND ONLY.
BE POSITIVE AND PLAY YOUR POSITIVE RULE IN THE SOCIETY U WILL FEEL HAPPY.

ashraf replied on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 09:52 AM PST

Faisal; why need mullahas to offer jenaza or nikkha? it can be perform by any muslim.Islam doesnot give authority to only mullahas to perfom these functions. in pakistan 97% mullahas has education not even equal to matric, how can they understand the religon with such edcational background.again no mullahas 95% problems solved.

Hamid, Toronto replied on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 09:52 AM PST

Totally agree with Ashraf Bhai, get rid of Fanatic Mullahas once and forever. This cancer needs to be eliminated from Pak soil. We need to be united on this front. Please please no sympathy to Taliban.

Capt. Raza replied on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 01:09 PM PST

Mr Ashraf and Hamid, try to understand the reality. Our enemies are trying to creat hatred with our religious society. If there is no religious society, believe me, we will not be Muslim according to Quran. We will be muslims like some muslims in India (see their names are mixed with muslim and hindu names, they eat together, they marry each other, etc. which is quite contrary to Quran.

My dears, we have differenciate between good and bad Ulamaas, the true Ulamaas and true religious persons will prefer to die than to do any single act against Islam/Quran sayings. First, USA used these Taliban again USSR and these Taliban were the pious in the world and now when they have denied to accept their orders against Islam, USA is frightened and trying to kill them so that they should not be able to stand against USA. For this purpose, USA has hired/rented, SHAPED THEM LIKE ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS PEOPLE, NAMED THEM AS TALIBAN, and sent them in Pakistan to show the world that Islamic reglisious people are bad and thus ISLAM is not good (NAOOZBILLAH).

So I request to all of my brothers to try to understand the facts and reality. There are some bad people everywhere but it does not mean that all religious people (who are following Islam keeping Sunnah (beared) are no good. My dear we cannot live without religious people and Ulamaas. EVERYBODY CANNOT PERFOM JANAZAH & NIKAH. All these things you have to get and learn from Quran and when you learn all these things you cannot live without becoming a religious man.

May Allah Almighty give us wisdom to understand the facts and reality and we must stop saying anything against Islam, Ulamaas and true religious person who are following Islam in its true shape.

abj replied on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 01:59 PM PST

Capt Saab,
I agree with you partially, but the uneducated Maulvi is being played by those people you mentioned that have their own agenda. Times have changed. For a country like Pakistan where over 95% people can be exploited in the name of religion, "Maulvi" needs to be certified by an Islamic Counsel or Institute that educates, certifies, disciplines and enforces a code of ethics for a person (maulvi)who preaches to the common man. Nikkah and Jinaza is no Rocket Science, a very simple thing to do, and does not require specific credentials. Pakistan cannot afford the self proclaimed "Islam Thekadaar", who becomes one for selfish reasons like Maulana Fazlur Rehman Diesal and thousand others. I mention him, since more people know him.
We are not saying anything against Islam, but against those that have made a mockery out of our wonderful religion. May Allah Almighty give us all wisdom to understand Islam in True spirit, and enable us to isolate the crazy bearded bunch, who have hijacked a great practical religion and present it as a "Stephen Kings" horror movie. "AMEEN".

limo replied on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 06:11 PM PST

Can we all, the ardent critics of mullahs HONESTLY reply the following:

1. Do we regularly pray 5 times daily and ensure that our family and children also do that.
2. Do we honestly calculate and pay our zakat as per the nisab.
3. Do we feel proud in following the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet(pbuh) by keeping beard and imitatinh his way of life.
4. Do we ever care for the money that we feed our children with, is coming from a halal source.
5. Do we care to ensure that female members of our family move out strictly observing the dress code as dictated by Islam.
6. Does any mullah (be of any sect) forbid us from performing anyone of the above mentioned religious obligations.

If the answer is a big "NO" then we seriously need to set our priorities right and worry about our "EMAAN" rather than criticising someone for no logical reason.

zahid replied on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 06:59 PM PST

LIMO.

I am 100% agree with you.Everyone should ask these questions from himself. Then he come to know the real proble of our society.

Capt. Raza replied on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 07:49 PM PST

I 100% agree with LIMO. WALLAH if we following the 6 Points he mentioned above, everything will be fine and we will live in a place like Jannah. Point 3 regarding the main Sunnah (beard) is the first thing to do something in right direction. Some people say it is not necessary to keep beard but to me it is must. ABI says that "Nikkah and Jinaza is no Rocket Science, a very simple thing to do, and does not require specific credentials" but beleive me it is so. It means everybody has that knowledge to offer Janaza Prayer and he is fullfilling all requirements to lead the prayer. Same is the case of Nikah. WALLAH it will be very nice if every Muslim has that required knowledge then we will be lucky nation. However, it is not easy to learn all these requisits - exactly same as everybody or even a nurse cannot prescribe any medicine to a patient, that can be done only by a qualified medical doctor. Every field has its speciality. Unfortunately, for Islamic matters we do not prefer to go to true Ulammas (I do not use the word of Moulvi as this word is known as degarding the status of true Ulamaas and the required respect is not given to this word "Moulvi") We should remember this Hadees "Ul-Ulamaa warasat ul Ambia"

Anyway, we must understand that there are some black sheeps in this field who are agents of our enemies and due to thos agents we should not treat all Ulamaas like that. Every field has its speciality. I know so many medicines and where and when to use, but I cannot be a medical doctor. An engineer cannot perform the job of doctor and doctor cannot perform the job of engineer. However, we must understand Islamic teachings, translation of the Holy Quran and meanings of Hadees, but with this knowledge we cannot become Aalim unless we get all this education by spending so many years. There are exceptions some perople are doctor and Aalim both, but more than 95 % people cannot do it.

In the end, I really apprecaite the knowledge of LIMO and 6-Points he has mentioned are very logical and we must follow them to be a true Muslim. Reality of death is always following us and we cannot avoid it. So must be Islamic/religous person to be successful after death.

Hamid, Toronto replied on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 08:06 PM PST

Limo,
I don’t want to open a can of worms here but somebody has to response your inquires. To be honest I am smelling Taliban’ ideology on point number 3 and 5.

YOU CANNOT IMPOSE YOUR IDEAS BY FORCE. LET ME ASK YOU SIMPLE QUESTION, WHO GIVES YOU THE AUTHORITY TO IMPOSE YOUR IDEAS ON PUBLIC.

I believe we have suffered enough from Taliban please give us a break now. I agree with you only on points 2 and 4. On rest of points, I believe you are interfering with people personal matters.

>> 1. Do we regularly pray 5 times daily and ensure that our family and children also do that.
I leave this point between Allah and his Umma. Keep in mind that our ex-presidents were Tajuat Ghuzara (Praying at mid night) For example: Zia, Leghari, and Ishaq etc. (Nozibella), our country did not get any advantages from their prayers. May Allah bless Zia their souls.

>> 2. Do we honestly calculate and pay our zakat as per the nisab.
Yes we should but again we cannot impose these things by force.

>> 3. Do we feel proud in following the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet(pbuh) by keeping beard and imitatinh his way of life.

Again you are interfering with people personal matters. So you want to destroy all the Hammam, like Taliban did.

>> 4. Do we ever care for the money that we feed our children with, is coming from a halal source.

Yes we should but again we cannot impose these things by force. Let’s start these things from your family. May be one day, people will follow your family as a role model.

>> 5. Do we care to ensure that female members of our family move out strictly observing the dress code as dictated by Islam.

You cannot force people. I honestly believe this is personal choice of the people. You cannot impose these things by force. Lets learn from Taliban’ bad deeds.

>> 6. Does any mullah (be of any sect) forbid us from performing anyone of the above mentioned religious obligations.

They are creating hate in our society and we need to stop them by force. Yes by force.
Our main problem is lack of tolerance in our society. Rest of the points is irrelevant here.

Note: from now on I will not response back to your reply.

abj replied on Thursday, June 25, 2009 11:25 AM PST

Agreed with Hamid.

But let me add,
Limo, my answer to all the questions you asked is a big "NO".

<<<<<<If the answer is a big "NO" then we seriously need to set our priorities right and worry about our "EMAAN" rather than criticising someone for no logical reason.>>>>>>>

Excuse me? Whose priorities are we talking about? Limo's priorities? "NO" again. How about we all worry about our own "Emaan" unless an opinion is asked about a religious matter, which is a person's very personal thing between him and God.

Start thinking in the year 2009 vs 1009 or earlier. Those efforts to put the clock back a thousand or so years by some freaks is what the Pakistan Army is dealing with in Swat and Waziristan.

I know quite a few people that could answer "YES" to all the questions you asked, but would still not make a good human being, but will not go into that for now.

Allah says in Quran replied on Thursday, June 25, 2009 08:15 PM PST

Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair admonition, and argue with them in the kindest way. Your Lord knows best who is misguided from His way. And He knows best who are guided. (16:125)
You who believe! You are only responsible for yourselves. The misguided cannot harm you as long as you are guided. All of you will return to Allah and He will inform you about what you were doing. (5:105)
Obey Allah and His Messenger and do not quarrel among yourselves lest you lose heart and your momentum disappears. And be steadfast. Allah is with the steadfast. (8:46)

limo replied on Friday, June 26, 2009 06:01 AM PST

Hamid, you not only open the can this time but do us a favor and jump into it. Join your mates there and don’t forget to carry your secular thoughts with you. I will do the rest by sealing it tight again. Just a joke, take it light.

abj, i know it well that this discussion is not going to end anywhere hence it is useless going ahead with it.But what worries me most is the thoughts you are living with.

I am not sure about Nawab Town C Block as map is not available but I hav eseen the society as whole 10 merla is about 15 to 18, If It looks brand new then you may add 15 to 18 Lac to it. If old deduct 25% if 3 ys old, 50% if 10-12 years old. So total price should be arround 28 to 36 Lac depending upon
location and quality of construction.

Khan replied on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 09:52 PM PST

Nawab Town is a poorely developed society. Not sure about the price. I was able to find the house 110 in C block (labeled as Naseem's house) in nawab town in the following link.

http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=&lon=&z=18&l=0&m=a

It is about 2KM from Thoker Niaz Baign. I believe Nawab Town was launched more than 25 years ago. Habib sahib's estimated price seems to be correct.

It is an event that is played every two years probably and only a couple of countries participate in it.Fortunately we won it, its great.Whole
team alongwith the management desrves the credit as it was a classic example of real team work. But the way this victory is being projected and celebrated really make me feel like we are overreacting. Such a jubiliation would have been understood, had it been a 4 year like big event as we won in 92.Can we really afford to celebrate it the way we are with millions sitting in the tents out of their homes in absolute pathetic condition. Our army at war with our own people (ok call them terrorist but they are the sons of the soil). Anti state sentiment at its peak in Baluchistan. Suicide bombing and load shedding continue to remain the fate of this nation.Sectore like healthcare and education remain completely ignored. We are a nuclear power but look how helpless when it comes to stopping drones who continue to kill our civilians, under the brink and nod of the government i must say.Our head feels no shame in begging around the world, they made a nation begger that has wealths of potentials. I think we need to go a long way yet before we could really celebrate like a dignified nation in the world.

Shahid replied on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 06:29 PM PST

Dear Limo,

We as a nation need to show the world that we are not only involved in this so called war on terror or victim of problems created by some .... such as Bush / Mush, we are and Insha Allah will emerge a great National. Let the people to celebrate the way they want, b'caz they have very limited opportunities like T20 one. Its like a light in the dark night. Always think positive.... don't mind

i am sorry to say mr limo, that people like u alwys critisie, what ever is the situation,if after the long long time we pakistanis heard a good news abd u are objecting on that too...its agreed that displaced people are there, army is fighting with terrorist,,dont say those guys son of soil, say them traitors ...agent of foreign powers...

moreover this celebration is not for good, is for some days and people like u critising ,,,

Imran replied on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 11:40 PM PST

limo dude dont be so pessimistic. there were not couple of teams as u said. it was world championship involving dozens of teams from all over the world in pre-qualifying round and the actual event. All the powers of cricket played and one country won it which is our country Pakistan. now let those enjoy who feel happy and proud. if you prefer you can crawl in you pessimist grave but dont say others should not celebrate. it is a great morale booster for a nation in difficult times.

Limo's post with slight adjustments:

It is an event that is played every two years probably and quite a few countries participate in it. This time, after a long time, we won it, and its Fantastic. Whole
team along with the management desrves the credit as it was a classic example of real team work. But the way this victory is being projected and celebrated really make me feel like we are not celebrating enough. Such a mellow response would have been understood, had Pakistan not been the World Champion. We really need to celebrate it to boost our morale since millions of us are sitting in the tents out of our homes in bad condition. Our Brave army is at war with terrorists that are enemies of this soil. Patriotic sentiment is at its peak in Baluchistan and was demonstrated in all parts of Baluchistan after Pakistan won the World cup. Suicide bombers are being taken care of by our brave army. Load shedding will be taken care of by the end of this year. Sectors like healthcare and education need additional attention and will get there soon. Proudly, we are a nuclear power. Look how helpless terrorists are as their behinds are now being kicked by pak Army from one side and American drones from the other. In times of crisis, all paksitanis being local or overseas, come together, and such is being demonstrated for the displaced people presently, and was demonstrted in 2005 earthquake relief effort. I think we need to celebrate small things in life, and especially big events like these deserve a lot more attention from all.

I noticed something interesting in the budget numbers. The total size of 1997 budget was 552 billion rupees and for this year it was 2479 billion.

so it grew by a factor of about 4.5. My home that was worth about 16 lac back then is worth 70-75 lacs now.

So, the growth factor is between 4.4 and 4.7...nearly matching the budget growth factor. I think this would apply to on the ground mature properties. Files\plots see better growth rates.

Habib replied on Sunday, June 21, 2009 04:36 PM PST

Dear Observer Nice Observation But I dont know where your house is located Just To share with you
In 1997 My friend made a 10 Merla new house in Allama iqbal Town, He said it was worth 30 Lac, But as per my survey a 2,3 ys old house was 22 to 23 Lac at that time. Now I think similar House can be Bought in 3X price, Like 66 For Old and about 75 for new
Another realtive Bought 5 merla Double House in Johar Town in 1999 It was 3 years Old House in A Block Near Akbar Chowk Price was 17 lac. Similar House can be Boubht in 36 to 38 Lac Now So it is 2.2X
5 merla valancia homes in 1998 were 17 Lac each on Instaments. Today ready home was quoted in 36 Lac and on instalments in 39 Lac So 2.3X
In 1999 we bought 10 Merla single story house in WAPDA in 19 Lac and Now you can find Sigle story house in 45 to 50 Lac So it becomes 2.5X

Observer, as the size of the family increases, the budget increases, its as simple. But the most unfortunate part of recent budget is that as before, agriculture tax has been evaded again.A sector that contributes almost 23% in GDP, will remains out of the tax net. Why, because more than 50% of the arable land belonges to the landlords who have always been a part of our national assembly. In a recent interview, Shaukat Tareen admitted that had he tried to levy tax on this sector, he would have been martyred the next day.

sad replied on Monday, June 22, 2009 06:43 PM PST

@Observer
What you have noticed is just a coincidence otherwise the percentage growth of the budget has got nothing to do with the escalating ratio of your property value.

@Limo
This class is just like paracites, suck whatever you can!But the fact remains that its only we who allow them to do so.

New Trends

I heard the real estate market is again going up. many said before that it has hit rock bottom and now it can only go up. Is that true?

Brother replied on Sunday, June 21, 2009 03:08 AM PST

Yes, it will go up. For this you have to wait for 5 years atleast.

khan from canada replied on Sunday, June 21, 2009 12:34 PM PST

Hey Arslan

Pakistan's realestate market where 90% tarde is via cash (and not mortageg financing) its all based on demand. Population is huge and demand will always be there. The only factor that plays a part in changing that ever increasing demand is the foreign investors/ (overseas Pakistanies)or local realtors etc. who come in the market to make a profit on their investments in a span of 5 to 10 years.

Muhammad Amjad replied on Sunday, June 21, 2009 04:08 PM PST

Assalamo Alaikum! I am 100% sure that the market will go DOWN at least 10% to 20% if the same economical and political situation prevails.

Another Observer replied on Sunday, June 21, 2009 06:06 PM PST

@ ^

Great logic.

Using the same logic I am 100% sure that the market will go UP at least 30% to 70% in next 2 years. But I think my being 100% sure does not affect the market.

yessss replied on Sunday, June 21, 2009 08:02 PM PST

Will it go up? Will it go down?

Everything depends on the events that unfold in Pakistan. If America decides to invade and occupy, then Pakistan will be another Iraq and there will be no demand for any real estate. We all have to wait and see what unfolds. Don't be naive and think these things cannot happen. The US has massive interests in Pakistan and Obama is increasing rather than decreasing America's involvement in the area. Don't forget, whoever controls Afghanistan and Pakistan controls Asia. And that includes CHINA who will be the big player in the next 50 years. Long-term American interests include Pakistan !!!!

yessss replied on Sunday, June 21, 2009 11:52 PM PST

World domination always involves several sacrificial lambs. My money is on Pakistan and Afghanastan being those lambs. Tragically, if you read the papers and you will see this is already underway.

Friend replied on Monday, June 22, 2009 03:28 PM PST

In my opinion brother Khan of Canada is right. One point I will differ with him is that oversees pakistani may start selling their properties and start to bring money back abroad. The reason for that is lawlessness in Pakistan and at the same time Bush is no longer President and things start getting better too which I think will impact on Pakistan realestate market. I have talk to many friends here in the USA. Many of them who have been living here for twenty some years were getting ready to move back to Pakistan now they have change their mind because of Pakistan unstable situation!

nabeel replied on Monday, June 22, 2009 06:50 PM PST

There are 60% or above population living on rent in islamabad and rawalpindi. people are desparate to get their own house and they are investing in outskirts of main cities. overseas pay important role because they support families back in pakistan and one who do not have family here is not ready to invest but that will not affect on urban areas or specially developed schemes. sudden impact on far away places like gawader, dha valley, file schemes etc

khan replied on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 08:38 AM PST

I agreed with Friend, and partially with nabeel. 60% populaiton living on rent in Islamabad and Rawalpindi area can't afford the existing
prices. Majority of them even can't afford any prices and some may able to afford some. You could be right if the prices go further down then there will be many more people able to afford to build home too.
Here is another points, We don't have any pools to inidicate which percent of people who currently own plots in various societies are going to build homes. I beleive that overwhelming majority will not build home they are in for short term gain to sell their plot. So that mean many socities will remain with vacant plots for long time to come.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

........................................

Question # 1: Does LRE get commission?

Answer: Of course we do. But we earn it. We earn it by only recommending good projects. We can get even bigger commission from fake developers of fake projects but we flatly refuse. Please stop thinking that LRE is a charity. LRE is a business and we do very hard work for our clients.

The developers of Divine Gardens presented their project to us. We did our honest, neutral and critical research and found the developers and their projects to be sound, something we could recommend to our clients with confidence. We never recommend anything in which we are not comfortable putting our own money.

If you buy through us, you will get best locations at best
prices, and best guidance from a credible and reliable source that you can trust, along with several special concessions; and in return we earn commission. We work very hard to earn our commission and are very very choosy to only deal in Win-Win-Win situations where all parties get benefit (the end user, the most by getting a safe and sound product.)

........................................

Question # 2: Is this project targeted at upper class?

Answer: Yes, this project is targeted at upper middle class and upper class.

RE: Criticism of "Upper Class Project": If you cannot afford it please avoid the "Angoor Khatay Hain" thing.

If you have lower budget we can get a home for you in your budget. It won't be this good though.

It's said: "You Get What You Pay For." [ this may not be a hadith by the way (smile) ref: Post # 43646. It's called Common Sense (i.e., the least common of all senses) ]

........................................

Question # 3: No doubt the location is ideal with great access @ DHA 8 Commercial Broadway and Airport Road junction, but is there noise pollution issue or considerable discomfort due to the project being on Airport road close to Airport?

Answer: (Had noise been an issue, we would have rejected Divine Gardens on day one.) Well, honestly this was one of the major concerns we had when we were doing our critical research of this project. We (at least 7 different people at four different times so far) have spent considerable time at different locations of the project, and have not found any considerable discomforting noise during landing and takeoff time.

The planes do not pass over this project and the sound heard quite away from the side of even biggest planes is way less discomforting than an auto riksha passing by your home (Or the sound of a generator during load shedding for that matter). It’s practically un-noticeable sound for a few seconds, few times a day and rest of the time it’s extremely peaceful and serene environment quite away from all kind of traffic noise and all kind of other pollution.

So we are quite satisfied that noise is not an issue. As mentioned above, had the noise been an issue we would have rejected the project on day one. We recommend everyone who can to go at site and spend some time (about half an hour) and experience for themselves what we have mentioned. Seeing is believing, or should we say “Hearing is believing”. As you can see from development progress pictures, this is not a paper scheme and there is nothing to hide. Just visit the site and most of your concerns will be answered to your satisfaction.

Important Note: Please also note that just to be more safe as a first priority we are offering our clients a choice from ideally located houses # 23 onwards in B block which are at best possible, quietest and most desirable location within the whole project very close to the METRO side, between two parks, and next to all amenities. Please take a look at the map to know why:
